JAKARTA, July 13 (Xinhua) -- Top Asia-Pacific golfers are ready to rumble in Indonesia Open that will be held on July 14-17 with total prize of 1 million U.S. dollars.
In a press conference on Wednesday, New Zealander Michael Henry, Chinese Liang Wenchong, Irish Paul McGinley, Japanese Shigeki Maruyama and Indonesian Rory Hie told reporters that they will try their best to win.
They said that they have been preparing for the event as they feel the competition gets tougher.
"I watch many footages of my appearance during the last season. They help a lot," said Henry, champion of Indonesia Open 2010.
Meanwhile, Maruyama said that he has been practicing harder to face his opponents.
"My biggest opponent is Paul McGinley as we have competed in two or three tournaments while I don`t know much about other players," said Maruyama who just recovered from knee injury.
McGinley said that he has just returned from Europe to join such a competition that would be useful for his preparation.
"I see that my opponents get stronger. However, the biggest opponent is the golf course itself," he said.
Liang said that he will focus on technique and make some adjustment as he also just returned from Europe.
"Different place, different obstacles," he said.
However, he said that he did not make any special preparation.
"I am familiar with the golf course here. Hopefully, I could make my best," he said.
Indonesian Hie said that he is optimistic to win the event as he finished second at the PGA Tour several months ago in Indonesia.
"However, I don`t set any specific target in term of score," he said.
